About the scripture we use

Every passage in this app is quoted verbatim from translations in the public domain, chosen deliberately so scripture here is never behind anyone's copyright.

English: the World English Bible (WEB), a modern public-domain revision of the American Standard Version.

French: Louis Segond 1910, quoted verbatim in the French edition. Spanish: Reina-Valera 1909. Portuguese: Bíblia Livre, a public-domain modernization of João Ferreira de Almeida's translation. The Spanish and Portuguese editions will carry those texts when they launch.

We quote passages whole and unedited. Where an entry lists a longer reference than the excerpt shown, the reference names the full story so you can read it in any Bible you trust.
